Winter London

The Case for a Winter Visit to London

The best part of a winter trip to London is the shopping. The winter sales and after the holiday bargains are the best! Boutiques, chains and local stores are selling their end of season goods with fantastic discounts. In today’s blog post I’ll share the best places to shop, my favorite shops, vintage for fun and Christmas décor that’s still available in January. Covent Garden, Regent Street and Royal Arcade are best for Christmas decorations. They are also fantastic for shopping.

A must see during this time is Covent Garden for shopping and Masala Zone is in this area for some yummy Indian food. There are many cute cafes around the area to rest as well as a Laduree for a macaroon and cappuccino. The tea shops in the area are a must see. There are The Tea House , Drury , Mariagefreres ,The East India Company and of course Fortnum and Mason to name a few.

Best Sales for women’s clothes:

Ted Baker always

AllSaints

COS I usually find several things here

Barbour

French Connection

Sweaty Betty

Bluebird

Walk through the streets and stop at Choosing Keeping for a beautiful notebook. Then a drink in one of the very colorful places in Neals Yard.

After exploring the Christmas decorations in Covent Garden and shopping while enjoying the bites along the way head over the Regent Street for more. While walking along the street stop in some of the arcades then go to the Royal Arcade in Mayfair, while there, Sexy Fish has really good food. The decorations are usually available till the third week of January and the crowds are much less than usual around this time.

For fun vintage check out Camden where the Camden Market and stables will be more than enough for a day of exploring. While there, have an ice cream at Chin-chin-labs there is also an All Saints store across from the markets. I love their leather jackets and for some reason find the best stuff in this location.
